Rene joined the compliance team at MacKay Shields in 2004 and served as Chief Compliance Officer from 2005 through 2020.  As Chief Administrative Officer, Rene oversees Compliance, Finance, Private Funds Administration, Human Resources, Risk Oversight, and Facilities. Prior to joining MacKay Shields, Rene spent two years with HSBC Republic as a Vice President — Compliance Manager in the International Private Banking Division.  Prior to that, Rene was a Principal Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers' Regulatory Compliance Consulting Group.  Earlier in his career Rene worked for CompDent Corporation and The Options Clearing Corporation. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Rene’s career in the investment industry began in 1991.
