Chief Executive Officer
New York Life Investment Management LLC

Naïm Abou-Jaoudé is the Chief Executive Officer of New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM), a multi-boutique third party asset management business under New York Life.

Previously, Naïm was the CEO of Candriam from 2007 to 2023, one of NYLIM’s affiliates. During his tenure as CEO, he guided the company through its 2014 acquisition by New York Life and subsequent rebranding to Candriam. He successfully strengthened its position as a leader in sustainable investing, doubling its assets under management through geographic expansion across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. In addition, under Naim’s leadership, Candriam further diversified its position through a number of acquisitions and partnerships in the European alternative space, including Kartesia and Tristan Capital Partners.

With over 30 years of experience in asset management, Naïm has held various leadership roles, including Alternative Fund Manager at Credit Agricole and UBS Asset Management, and Chief Investment Officer and CEO of Dexia Asset Management, Candriam's predecessor. Between June 2021 and June 2023, Naïm was President of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA), representing the €27 trillion European investment management industry.

Naïm graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and earned a Master's in Economics and Finance from Université Paris II - Panthéon.


Executive Vice President
New York Life Insurance Company

Alain Karaoglan is Executive Vice President and head of the company’s Strategic Businesses, which include New York Life Group Benefit Solutions, Group Membership Association Division, Institutional Annuities, Institutional Life, New York Life Direct,  New York Life Investment Management, and Seguros Monterrey New York Life. Mr. Karaoglan joined New York Life in 2019 and was appointed to the Executive Management Committee in March 2020.

Prior to joining New York Life, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Voya Financial from 2012 to 2018, where he was a member of Voya’s Executive Committee and oversaw all of Voya’s businesses, including Annuities, Employee Benefits, Individual Life, Investment Management, and Retirement. Before joining Voya, he was the head of Divestitures at American International Group, where he helped restructure the company after the 2008 financial crisis.

Previously, Mr. Karaoglan held senior roles in the investment banking and insurance industries, including at Banc of America, Deutsche Bank, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, First Boston Corporation, and Bear Stearns.

Mr. Karaoglan has an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, and a Bachelor of Arts in economics and Bachelor of Science in business administration, magna cum laude, from Pepperdine University.


Chief Operating Officer, Head of U.S. Retail
New York Life Investment Management LLC

Kirk is the Chief Operating Officer of New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM), President of NYLI Funds and ETFs and Head of U.S. Retail.  Kirk is responsible for managing NYLIM’s U.S. retail business and distribution through wealth management intermediaries and oversees the day-to-day operations for product, marketing, fund administration and accounting, and technology. He has held numerous leadership roles at NYLIM, including leading strategy, mergers and acquisitions and global product development. 

Kirk joined the firm in 2006. Previously, he was with GivingCapital, Inc., where he managed donor-advised fund products and client relationships for the financial services market. He began his career in sales and marketing roles with Unisys Corp. and Beenz.com, Inc.

Kirk earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.


Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer

Anthony is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of New York Life Insurance Company. He is also responsible for the teams which principally manage New York Life's general account portfolio that include Fixed Income Investors, Private Capital Investors and Real Estate Investors. He is a member of New York Life’s Executive Management Committee and serves on its Risk Steering Committee.

Anthony joined the firm in 1999. He has held various positions of increasing responsibilities at the firm, including Senior Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income. He also served as Managing Director and Head of Fixed Leveraged Finance. Previously, he achieved positions of increasing responsibility in lending, risk management, and debt capital markets with J.P. Morgan, Toronto-Dominion, and First Chicago. 

Anthony earned a B.A. in English and Economics from Middlebury College and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Stern School of Business of New York University. 


Chief Investment Officer, New York Life Investment Management, and Chairman, New York Life Investments Asia
New York Life Investment Management, LLC

Jae Yoon is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM) and Chairman of NYL Investments Asia. He serves as the Chair of the Investment Governance Committee, responsible for the oversight of the investment performance of the strategies managed by NYLIM’s boutiques and affiliate portfolio teams. As Chairman of NYL Investments Asia, Mr. Yoon is responsible for developing and driving our business strategy in Asia.

Additionally, Mr. Yoon leads the Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS) team which oversees the portfolio management of New York Life Investments and third-party multi asset strategies, asset allocation services and economic analysis for New York Life.

Prior to joining NYLIM, Mr. Yoon was Head of Quantitative Research, Analytics, and Risk Management globally at Western Asset Management. Previously, he was with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where he served as the Head of Risk and Performance for the Pacific and European Regions in Tokyo and London, respectively. Mr. Yoon also worked at JP Morgan Securities in Asia as regional head of Risk Management Control for Fixed Income and Equity Derivative Trading. 

Mr. Yoon earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Operations Research at Cornell University.

Senior Managing Director, Head of Private Capital Investors
NYL Investors

Colleen is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Private Capital Investors. She leads a team of investment professionals that manages a portfolio of private placement investments for New York Life.

Colleen joined the firm in 2009. Previously, she was at Société Générale for 9 years primarily working in the bank’s debt private placement group with responsibilities for originating, structuring, and distributing traditional private placement financings. She has over 20 years of experience in the private placement market.

Colleen earned a B.S. in Finance and International Business from Pennsylvania State University.

Head of NYLIM Korea Branch
New York Life Investment Management

Sungyun Hong is the Head of New York Life Investments client relationship office in South Korea. Sung manages investor relations for alternative investments and has played a critical role in building our brand as a leading provider of alternative solutions in Korea.

Sung joined New York Life in 2016 as a Director in NYLIM to manage Korea’s alternative investments investor relations, with increased responsibility in the years since. He started his career as a Research Analyst at Hana Financial Investment. Sung then held various positions at Korea Teachers Pension Fund and Hanwha Asset Management Co. Most recently, he was a Vice President at VOGO Fund Asset Management.

Sungyun earned a B.B.A. from Baruch College.


Head of Sales, Japan
New York Life Investment Management Asia Ltd.

Noriko is the Head of Sales, Japan for New York Life Investment Management Asia Ltd. She is responsible for all sales and marketing activities of New York Life Investments in Japan, including financial institutions and pension funds. 

Noriko joined the firm in 2016. Previously, she served as Managing Partner at Tanden Research Institute where she led consulting services for the U.S.-based asset management companies for its Asian business development. She also worked at Mariner Capital Investments leading the marketing and business development initiatives in the Asian/Pacific region for Mariner Group products and Head of Asian Marketing team for Rock Maple Funds. She began her career working in the Tokyo offices of Goldman Sachs and Nikko Securities, as well as Merrill Lynch in Japan and New York. She has worked in the financial services industry since 1987.

Noriko earned a B.A. with Honors in Political Science/Pre-Law from Michigan State University and a B.A. in International Law from the International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan.

Ausbil Investment Management

Mark is the CEO of Ausbil Investment Management, where he is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, including sales and distribution, marketing, finance, information technology, operations, legal and compliance.

With over 30 years of experience in funds management, Mark has extensive multi-asset class expertise. Prior to his current role, he headed distribution and institutional sales at Ausbil, and before that, headed the company's wholesale distribution business. He has also held positions with Norwich Investment Management, County Investment Management, and IOOF/Perennial (Perennial Investment Partners).

Mark holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Monash University and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In addition, he serves as an Independent Director of IGCC (Investor Group on Climate Change).

Tristan Capital Partners

Ian is the Co-Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer of Tristan Capital Partners. He has a strong track record in global securities investment management, investment banking, and investment research.

Ian joined the firm in 2009. Previously, he was co-head of Morgan Stanley's European Equity and Fixed Income Research Division, a pan-European division with 265 staff, covering over 1000 securities across 30 sectors, and servicing hundreds of institutional clients across the world. He was also a strategist with Morgan Stanley in New York. He began his career as an investment manager at Baillie Gifford, one of the UK's leading independent investment management partnerships. 

Ian earned a B.A. in Law from Oxford University.

Tristan Capital Partners

Ric is the Executive Chairman of the Investment Committee, Chief Investment Office, and Founding Partner of Tristan Capital Partners. Regarded as one of the most creative and consummate professionals in the international real estate management industry, he is also the firm’s Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for the Fund’s overall strategy and execution.

Ric joined the firm as Founding Partner in 2009. Previously, he was a Partner and Senior Managing Director of AEW Capital Management in the U.S. He then became Chief Investment Officer and Board Director of AEW Europe. He later founded and served as Chief Executive at Curzon Global Partners, a London-based real estate investment company owned by AEW Europe. 

Ric earned an A.B. in Economics from Dartmouth and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (PMD).

MacKay Shields

Alison Micucci is the CEO-elect of specialty fixed-income manager MacKay Shields. She will start her new role on January 1, 2025, and will be based in New York.

Alison has almost 35 years of experience across the asset management, securities and insurance industries. Her career began with senior roles at the SEC, PGIM, and GSAM. Since joining New York Life in 2002, Micucci has held various leadership roles, including Head of Institutional Annuities, New York Investments’ Chief Administrative Officer, and Head of New York Life’s Business Planning and Strategy team. Among her accomplishments were launching New York Life Ventures, driving transformation initiatives to enhance client operations and services, and helping to develop New York Life Investments' international asset management strategy.

She has been most recently serving as Head of New York Life Direct, a leader in direct-to-consumer life insurance, which serves approximately 2 million customers.

Alison earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a J.D. from the Western New England College School of Law.

Craig Sabal is a Senior Managing Director, Deputy Chief Investment Officer of New York Life and Head of Fixed Income Investors. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, which oversees asset allocation strategy and portfolio management for the General Account investment portfolio. He also leads the investment team that manages the public fixed income portfolio.

Prior to joining New York Life, Craig was the Deputy Chief Investment Officer at AIG responsible for strategic asset allocation and tactical investment decisions for the Life & Retirement and Property & Casualty operating businesses. Craig has more than 25 years of financial consulting leadership experience in strategic portfolio and risk management transactions across fixed income and equity markets. He served as Managing Director – Head of the Insurance and Credit Solutions Group for Goldman Sachs, and previously held senior financial and consulting positions for several investment bank and accounting firms.

Craig earned his B.S. degree in accounting from Rutgers University.

Senior Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Investors

Mark is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Investors. He is responsible for public and private real estate debt investments and private real estate equity investments. The group's primary activities include commercial mortgage lending, commercial mortgage-backed securities investing and the acquisition/disposition of commercial properties for both New York Life and third-party investors. He is also responsible for corporate real estate activities on behalf of New York Life.

Mark began his career in the financial services industry when he joined the firm in 1985. Previously, he was co-head of commercial mortgage production and managed the Structured Investments area within Real Estate Investors.

Mark earned a B.A. from Lake Forest College and an M.S. in Real Estate from New York University.

Ausbil

Paul is the Executive Chairman, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Equities at Ausbil Investment Management. He is responsible for portfolio construction, strategy and management of the Equities team and instrumental in growing Ausbil's assets under management. He is also Chairman of Ausbil’s Portfolio Construction Committee.

Paul co-founded Ausbil in 1997, as an investment management house focused on large, medium and small-cap equities, largely for institutional mandates. Ausbil now has one of the longest outperformance track records in the marketplace. He has since expanded the firm to include a range of global strategies in global small caps, listed infrastructure and global natural resources. Ausbil offers long, long-short and absolute return strategies, and is a highly respected institutional investment manager. Ausbil has also been recognised as a leader in ESG, which is integrated across Ausbil’s investment process. Previously, Paul worked with Westpac Banking Corporation’s Investment Management Division, Mercantile & General and Legal & General Asset Management. His career includes senior roles in management, investment and portfolio management in the funds management industry. He has worked in the financial services industry since 1979.
